Hold the Line: A Coffee for Rattlesnake Mountain and the People Who Protect It

Hold the Line: A Coffee for Rattlesnake Mountain and the People Who Protect It

A few weeks ago, smoke rose above Rattlesnake Mountain.

If you live in this valley, you know that mountain. You've hiked it. Maybe you've scrambled its rocky faces, stood on the summit and looked out over the river and the ridgelines beyond. It's one of those places that feels like home even if you've only been there once.

When the fire broke out, the firefighters and forest rangers held the line. They worked the slopes, managed the terrain, and protected a mountain that thousands of people love. They did what they do — quietly, professionally, without fanfare — and because of them, Rattlesnake Mountain is still there.

We didn't want to rush this one. Some things deserve to be done right.

The Name

"Hold the Line" means something in two worlds that matter deeply to us here in Baker River Valley.

In firefighting, holding the line is everything. It's the discipline and courage to establish a fire line and defend it — to stand between the fire and what you're protecting and not give ground. It's one of the most demanding things a person can do.

In climbing and hiking, your line is your route — the path you've committed to on a technical face or a difficult trail. Holding it means focus, trust in your training, and the grit to see it through when conditions get hard.

Both meanings live in this coffee. Both deserve to be honored.

The Coffee

Hold the Line is a medium roast Rattlesnake Mountain Blend — smooth, grounded, and built for the kind of people who earn their views. Not flashy. Not delicate. Just a deeply satisfying cup that holds up to whatever the day brings.

The bag carries a photo of the actual mountain — smoke still visible in the sky, the ridge standing firm. It's a document of what happened and a reminder of who showed up.

For the Mountain. For the Community.

Every bag of Hold the Line is a small way of saying thank you — to the firefighters and forest rangers who held that line when it mattered, and to a mountain that means something to all of us.

[A portion of proceeds from Hold the Line will be donated to the Rumney Fire Dept .

If you hike Rattlesnake Mountain, if you watched that smoke from the valley, if you felt relief when the mountain was safe — this one's for you.
